Meet Jalapeo a 4 year old Chihuahua, who is a shy soul looking for safety and love. Jalapeo may be tiny, but his story is a big one of courage. This little guy came to us as a stray, and life on his own seems to have taught him to be cautious of people and new situations. Right now, Jalapeo is still learning that the world can be kind, that gentle hands bring comfort, and that soft voices mean safety. He spends much of his time tucked away in his cozy spot, quietly watching the world around him. But with patience, understanding, and lots of love, Jalapeo has the potential to blossom into a loyal little companion. He'll need a calm, adult-only home with someone experienced in helping shy or fearful dogs learn to trust again. A secure, fenced yard is a must as he's a tiny escape artist who still feels safer when he can choose his own pace. Jalapeo does well around other gentle dogs and cats who will give him space and maybe show him that humans aren't so scary after all. Underneath the fear, we know there's a sweet heart waiting to be loved he just needs someone patient enough to let him bloom in his own time.
